We’re finally doing it!!! In collaboration with The Africa Yoga Project and Communities Assist, we will be launching and hosting the very first ever Yoga Teacher Training program at our sanctuary site, Rainbow Ridge, at the foot of Mt Kilimanjaro.

Catherine has been teaching and practicing yoga since 2009 and is passionate about creating world-class wellbeing leaders through the Africa Yoga Project.

Become a Yoga Teacher while contributing to a worldwide Yoga Community
Mari Pizzinga, a Founding Director of Communities Assist (since 2006) and Rodney Sen, together owners of The Livingroom and Barzura Restaurant, introduced Yoga to their Tanzanian community by hosting a number of Yoga retreats at Rainbow Ridge (RR). With over 50 of The Livingroom Community joining the retreats over the years, Mari and Rodney shared the healing benefits of yoga with the Tanzanian community while also taking the opportunity to be of service.
Inspired by The Africa Yoga Project in Kenya, Mari has also been on a mission to offer Yoga Teacher Training at the Education Centre she designed, and project managed at Rainbow Ridge. Offering YTT at RR will not only create a new employment opportunity for some of the most vulnerable people who would otherwise never have such an opportunity, but will attract participants from all over the world to come and be a part of a life changing project.
Raising money for good
TLR has raised approx $18,000 from various yoga events over the years, which has paid for the two very first qualified local yoga teachers to teach yoga in Swahili to our community in TZ.
These funds will also go towards launching the very first Yoga Teacher Training at Rainbow Ridge in 2026 which also includes a scholarship program where locals, who could never afford YTT are invited to apply to participate for free!
Your experience
You will have an energising, challenging daily classes to add up to your 200 hour yoga teacher training, with expert guidance and care from Catherine Njeri.
This YTT is a small group environment, so you will receive focused instruction and more than enough time and attention in order to learn your skills well.

Meet Louise
Louise Kalani – yoga teacher who trained with Rodney in 2011 and CA Volunteer – has been working tirelessly to co-create this YTT in TZ and will be volunteering her time to facilitate this unique experience in Feb 2026.
